In Mevlevi order, there are eighteen different duties that the nevniyaz is obliged to perform, which demonstrates teamwork and work sharing in the kitchen.
1. Kazancı Dede: He is the deputy of Aşçı Dede. He is the tekke officer and manages the kitchen and the novice Mevlevis collectively.
2. Caliph Dede: He guides and trains the novice Mevlevis who have just come to the kitchen.
3. Outside Square Keeper: He conveys the orders of the Cook Dede to the dervishes in the cell.
4. Laundress: He ensures that the laundry of the dede and dervishes is washed.
5. Abrîzci (water pourer): Cleans the toilets, fountains and taps.
6. Sherbet Maker: He makes and offers sherbet to the newcomers who have completed their ordeal and to the dedes who come to visit the kitchen.
7. Dishwasher: Washes the dishes.
8. Cabinetmaker: Looks after the containers, supervises the tinning of the containers and keeping them clean.

9. Marketer: He goes to the market in the morning with his basket,
10. Somatçı: Sets and clears the table.
11. İç Meydancisi: Makes coffee for the dervishes, dedes and guests.
12. Interior Lamp Keeper: Cleans and lights the lamps of the kitchen.
13. Tahmisçi: Roasts, grinds and prepares the coffee of the dedes and the matbah.
14. Bedmaker: Makes, collects and puts away the beds of the dervishes.
15. Outside Lamp Lighter: He lights the lamps outside the kitchen.
16. Sweeper: Sweeps and cleans the kitchen and the courtyard.
17. Çerağcı: He takes care of the kitchen's lamps and candlesticks. He comes and gets the things that need to be bought.
18. Errand Boy: He handles the running errands, also known as errands. Newcomers to the lodge are first assigned this service. By performing these duties in a master-apprentice relationship, the individuals mature and are given the title of "dede" (dear dede) and assigned a cell.
